My client is a global developer of high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell production lines. They have sites all over the world and have established themselves as a market leader in solar technology. They are currently looking for a Solar Cell Scientist to work on the research and development of silicon solar cell technology and to work in their plant in Germany.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an solar cell scientist with experience in crystalline silicon to join an industry giant and take a significant step in the advancement of their career.

CORE CRITERIA
My client is seeking a Solar Cell Research & Development Scientist who has extensive experience in handling crystalline silicon solar cells.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimise crystalline silicon solar cell structures using PC1D
  • Apply scientific knowledge to innovate and apply advanced concepts such as surface passivation
  • Contribute to the development the of the cost- and technology roadmap for solar cells
  • Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of products
  • Work extensively on the development of crystalline silicon solar cells.
  • Be responsible for research projects in cooperation with national and international research institutions

Requirements:

  • A successful candidate will be educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.
  • Will have an understanding of the physics of operation of photovoltaic silicon solar cells and a working knowledge of the technology used to produce them
  • Have extensive experience using software such as PC1D
  • Have practical, hands on experience in solar n-type silicon or p-type silicon and the doping processes involved
  • fluent in German and English
