Description

Join Britain’s biggest walking charity to help everyone, everywhere, enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. The Ramblers is the only charity dedicated to looking after paths and green spaces, leading walks, opening up new places to explore and encouraging everyone to get outside and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.

The Ramblers Walking for Health programme supports local partners to deliver group walks and has been hugely successful in helping people get and stay active.  The programme has a new funder and is undergoing a significant transformation to make it more effective, integrated with others Ramblers activity, and sustainable. You will act as a link between the national team and local short group walk partners, supporting the work of our partners and helping them through a period of significant change.

This is an exciting time to join the Ramblers team and a great opportunity to make a lasting and tangible impact on the future success of the charity.

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience of project management and delivering a public health/physical activity programme
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate consistent messages and gain commitment from partners
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to diagnose problems, provide solutions and make logical, timely decisions.

The ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment will be the key to success in this role.  Although our goals will be clear and constant, our plans for how they can best be delivered will need to remain flexible.
