ABPmer is an independent marine environmental consultancy that specialises in providing advice and undertaking applied studies in marine and estuarine environments. We currently have a vacancy for a senior/principal consultant who will be responsible for managing and advising on a wide range of projects including environmental impact assessments, renewable energy projects, habitat creation schemes, ecological modelling work, strategic coastal planning studies and the provision of guidance on existing and future marine legislation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting ABPmer’s research work (including commercially-driven investigations and innovative in-house projects) through the identification of new areas of research and the production of scientific papers. He/she will be a leading member of the company’s Environment/Ecology Team and will be supported by in-house multidisciplinary teams with expertise in coastal processes, hydrodynamic modelling, GIS and survey work. The preferred candidate must have a degree in an environmental discipline together with at least 5 years relevant experience in a consultancy or regulatory background. He/she should be a team player with strong project management skills and have a major interest in contributing to the staff development aims of the company. The successful candidate is likely to be strongly self-motivated with the drive and determination to succeed in a dynamic environment. The post will come with a competitive salary.
