SENIOR TUTOR in Biology (maternity cover) Preston Montford Field Centre FSC is an educational charity that delivers its mission of ‘Bringing Environmental Understanding to All’ via its network of Field Centres throughout the United Kingdom. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Tutor in Biology at our Preston Montford Field Centre in Shrewsbury. In the important and challenging role of a Senior Tutor you will develop, plan and deliver GCSE and A-level courses, along with environmental courses for younger students. You will be expected to play a major role in the working and organisation of the education team, to take a lead role in developing programmes in one subject area and in training non-specialist staff, and have management responsibilities for specified Centre operations. Therefore previous experience is essential, as is knowledge of the National Curriculum and a degree in biology or closely allied discipline. You’ll also be confident in working both in a team and independently and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. FSC Salary Grade: scale points 14 - 17, currently £20,982 - £23,943 p.a. (Team Leader Grade) Hours of work are based on a notional average of 40 per week. If resident at the Centre, there will be a deduction for accommodation. This is a temporary post offered for up to 12 months, to cover maternity leave.
