Senior Treatment Plant Design Engineer

As a 100% employee-owned organisation, our client is a leader in water and environmental infrastructure development and management. Due to the ongoing success of the group both locally and nationally, they require the services of a Senior Treatment Plant Design Engineer.

Working closely with the Group Manager of Water Engineering, your primary role will be provide technical expertise in the area of treatment plant design. In addition you will be required to act in the role of Project Manager to ensure the design project outcomes are satisfactory to the needs of the end client.

Your role will require you to:

•    Undertake reviews, value engineering and report writing for a variety of treatment plant projects
•    Plan, program ad deliver the specific projects
•    Act as Project Technical Lead and Project Manager to
•    Deliver agreed outputs on budget/time and to quality standards
•    Prepare expressions of interest and proposals, and carry out other appropriate marketing initiatives
•    Develop and mentor junior staff members
•    Complete all work in line with the organisational core values and in accordance with their Quality Systems and Procedures

To be considered for the position, you will be a tertiary qualified Engineer (ideally civil) with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant local experience. You will be a technical specialist with a proven work history of treatment plant design work. In addition you will ideally be capable of:

•    Supporting the sales and accountant management process through experience in business development
•    Liaising with clients and building lasting, positive relationships
•    Managing a program or project including project tasks, budgets, scope and risk
•    Defining and setting the direction for a team or project
•    Making quality business decisions and be able to identify, assess, evaluate and solve problems
•    Exhibiting essential, basic business and communication skills that are required for career growth at all levels
•    Undertaking brief interstate or international travel from time to time
