Gartner Lee is seeking a Senior Terrestrial Biologist to join its Ecology team based in Markham, ON. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent experience in biology with expertise in plant or wildlife ecology and a minimum of five to seven years experience in field biology and ecology. Consulting experience and knowledge of provincial and federal acts and policies is essential. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are also required. This position will focus on development and management of business opportunities in the land development sector. Responsibilities will include: · Identify emerging markets and business opportunities with existing and new clients· Develop appropriate marketing materials and strategies· Write effective proposals with input from proposed project team· Provide supervision and mentoring of intermediate and junior staff through on-the-job training and project work· Effectively manage and coordinate projects as a technical lead or project manager· Write and deliver high quality reports, which may include: field reports; permit applications; compensation plans; sustainability/restoration plans; environmental impact assessments; land and watershed plans; management plans; etc.· QA/QC of reports An individual with a reputation for ecological expertise, capable of developing good client relationships, cognizant of the needs of the land development cliental and able to deliver top quality projects on time and on budget would be the ideal candidate.
