The Person – Senior Sustainability Consultant
IT Power is seeking to recruit a Senior Sustainability Consultant for its sustainable energy
work in the UK and abroad. Successful candidate will preferably have at least three years
professional experience in energy efficiency and carbon management and an MSc in a
relevant discipline (preferably engineering graduates but other disciplines will be
considered). Membership of an appropriate professional body such as CIBSE, qualification
as a BREEAM/CSH assessor and experience of delivering strategic and practical low
carbon/energy and refurbishment solutions in buildings will be distinct advantages. The
successful candidate is also likely to have detailed working knowledge of renewable and
low carbon technologies at building and infrastructure scale. Significant client facing
experience, ideally within a consultancy environment is required. Knowledge of French or
Spanish would be an advantage.
The Role
The position will involve project management on a wide variety of projects and will include:
• Delivery of technical carbon/energy management projects, including carbon
footprinting, energy/carbon auditing and low carbon refurbishments.
• Interpreting energy data or survey results and applying energy efficiency, renewable
or low carbon technologies to reduce client’s energy/carbon consumption
• Advising clients on energy legislation (e.g. CRC) and developing policy, incentives
and funding mechanisms.
• Undertaking business development, including securing new clients. • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Carrying out BREEAM/CSH assessments.
The position requires technical and project management skills as well as the ability to
communicate effectively with a range of different professions and clients. IT Power’s
clients include a broad selection of public and private sector organisations. The successful
candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and have a demonstrated ability to meet tight
deadlines.
