Senior Strategic Buyer, Berlin, Germany, €80k - €100k + Bonus

My client is a leading global manufacturer of micromorph thin film solar modules with a constantly evolving range of products and solutions for the solar industry. They are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer to join their team in Berlin.

Position Overview:

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Buyer to join their team in Berlin, responsible for all supplier management and procurement throughout Germany and Europe. Maintaining key relations with existing clients whilst proactively sourcing new ones will be a key focus point for this role, which will include all aspects of sourcing, from market analysis to the negotiations and closing of contracts. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading and ambitious company within the solar space in an exciting and fast paced role.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Evaluating offers and sticking to budgets
• ·         Supplier management, development and evaluation
• ·         Support and monitoring of the procurement process from the inquiry to the supply
• ·         Qualification of strategic key suppliers on global basis, from market analysis to the conclusion contracts
• ·         Optimize the material and supplier portfolio
• ·         Drive the performance of existing suppliers and qualify new suppliers based on cost, quality, and timely delivery measures
• ·         Procurement of processing materials and technical components on a project basis
• ·         Both support and initiate projects for cost reduction
• ·         Implement and execute defined cost roadmaps for key suppliers
• ·         Careful consideration of contracts with regards to cost targets

Education:-

• ·         Strong technical and commercial background

Core Requirements:-

• At least 3 years experience with a proven track record in procurement within the Solar Industry
• Experience of negotiating contracts with international companies

• ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
• ·         Fluency in German
• ·         Excellent organisational skills
• ·         Strong team communication and analytical skills

General Requirements:-

• Ability to travel

• ·         Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results

Key Skills:-

Procurement or sourcing or purchasing, engineering, solar, German, experience with solar thin film modules purchasing, a degree in Economics or Business or Marketing
