Description

The Senior Regional Development Director for Southern California is based in Los Angeles, CA. The position’s purpose is to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new prospects and current donors living in Southern California (Santa Barbara - San Diego) in order to meet an established revenue goal.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Regional Development Director is responsible for achievement of short-term and long-term fundraising goals, initially solicitations ranging mid-level five to mid-level six figure gifts annually with a dedicated focus on the development and solicitation of seven figure multi-year commitments in support of CI. The Senior Regional Development Director manages a portfolio of approximately 200 major donors and prospects.

 

Working Conditions

  • Home Office Environment with 35% local travel and 5% regional travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required  

  • Four year degree.
  • Seven to 10 years of major gift solicitation experience required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and solicit significant gifts of six figures and more.
  • Experience working with board members and key volunteers in the cultivation of prospects.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic environment.

 Preferred 

  • Fundraising and solicitation with an environmental or conservation organization is preferred.
