Description

My client is amongst  the leading renewable energy providers globally and have a very strong business plan and balance sheet. They specialize in the manufacturing of crystalline silicon modules and are also a leading residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV developer with a strong market presence in Europe, the USA and the Asia-Pacific regions. As they operate and maintain (O&M) a number of projects in the European and US market they are looking to recruit  a senior candidate to manage all their  projects across North America.  The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project warranties & Operations and Maintenance (O&M), this is a very important role as they will have full profit and loss (P&L) and operations accountability. They will oversee after-sales claim management, costs & operational coordination. The successful candidate will be based either in the Maryland or San Francisco Bay Area.


Core Criteria:
My client is seeking a Senior Regional Asset Manager(O&M) who has a strong technical and commercial background in asset management and (O&M) of residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects.

 

Responsibilities:-

  • Develop and setup the O&M offering in North America
  • Provide engineering judgment to complex system issues
  • Oversee all  Warranty & Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities on residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects
  • Oversee sales support for warranty & Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts to ensure  profitability targets and contract due diligence
  • Scheduling and managing maintenance, module washing and repairs
  • Monitoring of assets from a technical and commercial perspective
  • Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE) matters on-site
  • Commercial management of asset( invoicing customers for energy services or Renewable Energy Credit (REC) sales)
  • On-site visits and systems verifications
  • Strengthen the network of Service Providers (SP)
  • Draft and coordinate Request for Proposals (RFP) submissions, contract negotiations and final contracts with Service Providers (SP)
  • Oversee all performance management and reporting activities
  • Calculate, analyze, and report PV system energy and financial performance (energy output, system losses, soiling, performance ratio, insolation ratio, P&L calculations, and liquidated damages (LD) calculations)
  • Create annual plant operating budgets – revenues and expenditures
  • Manage commissioning & handover process of projects from project delivery to asset management
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the O&M offer to customers
  • After Sales claim management
  • Accountable for key customer after sales customer experience
  • Resolve warranty claims
  • Stakeholder management
  • Close working relationships with sales, EPC, quality, finance, legal and marketing to ensure the successful running of the asset management business in North America
  • Ensure all departmental performance targets are met in accordance with the Board’s strategies
  • Oversee and manage departmental budget and expenditure

 

Education:
Undergraduate degree in Engineering (MSc Advantage).

Requirements:-

  • At least 7-10 years relevant solar photovoltaic (PV) or renewable energy  operations and maintenance experience (O&M) with a proven track record within this area (solar PV experience preferred)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and detecting realistic solutions
  • Willingness to travel to sites around North America
  • On-site DD(due diligence and O&M(operations & maintenance)  management experience
  • Commercial contract negotiation delivery experience
  • Practical experience in safety
  • Must have a good knowledge of design, O&M, reliability and performance of PV systems
  • Practical experience with solar systems and components
