Description

Bristol City Council is leading by example in the action against climate change and as the first local authority to declare a climate emergency has set a target for the City to become net zero by 2030.

The Council’s award-winning Energy Service is a driving force behind this activity, delivering projects that benefit the social, economic, and environmental health of our City and partners across the region.

Our team of energy professionals specialise in projects of all shapes and sizes - from Citywide infrastructure projects to energy efficiency initiatives in our local communities.

A major aim of the Energy Service is to deliver a City-wide heat network to supply low, and ultimately zero carbon heat to residents and businesses across Bristol.

Parts of this network are already operating whilst others are currently in construction, including the development of the Old Market heat network that will use heat from Bristol’s floating harbour to supply connected buildings with zero carbon heat.

Your will to manage the identification, development, and construction of energy centres within the City that will supply the Bristol heat Network and support/line manage other project managers within the team with the same remit.

You will have:

  • Excellent and relevant experience in a project development role, with experience in project managing either renewable energy or construction projects
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to ensure energy centre projects get the widespread support required to meet delivery timescales.
  • Excellent organisation skills with experience of managing multiple projects, with potentially conflicting demands.
  • Excellent and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and negotiation skills and the ability to be a self-starter working on your own.
  • Experience of managing others within a team.
