Senior Project Estimator, San Jose California

My client is one of the leading electrical contractors operating wind projects throughout the USA.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate, reporting to the Director will be responsible for estimating the costs of projects of current and future wind projects throughout the US.

Responsibilities:

• Producing cost analysis reports of planned projects
• Detailed analysis of project bids & budgets
• Communicate with subcontractors and vendors
• Attend pre bid meetings to understand the scope of work
• Submit detailed analysis of estimated turnover to investors
• Evaluate areas where potential savings could be made
• Identify potential subcontractors and suppliers
• Review quotas to ensure conformance with the projects plans and specs

Education:

Strong Engineering degree

Core Requirements:-

• Numerically sound
• A minimum of 4 years estimating experience
• Estimating and/ or engineering experience within the wind industry
• In depth understanding of project costs associated with wind farm production and operation

General Requirements:-

• Ability to work independently
• Produce concise and detailed reports
• Work towards strict deadlines
• Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
• Estimating and/ or engineering experience within the wind industry
• Proven ability to use estimating software (knowledge of ACUBID would be desirable but not essential)
