In consultation with the Supervising Scientist be responsible for: The development and management of the Institute’s research, assessment and monitoring programs on the effects of uranium mining on the environment of the Alligator Rivers Region (ARR). Liaising with stakeholders, particularly members of the Alligator Rivers Region Technical Committee, Energy Resources of Australia, relevant NT Government Departments and the Northern Land Council, on the development, conduct and reporting of the Institute’s programs. Provision of advice to The Supervising Scientist, based particularly on the research programs of the Institute, on standards practices and procedures for the protection of the environment and people of the ARR from the effects of uranium mining.
