Senior On-Site Technical Manager, Milan, Italy

My client is a leading global solar PV manufacturer. They are now looking to be a global leader in the development of residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects. As a result they are currently expanding their project development team in Europe to deliver a large number of projects in the European market. One of their most urgent hiring needs is an on-site technical manager to oversee  all onsite activities and installations  of commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects. As this is a new division within the group it is an excellent opportunity, with a lot of progression prospects and a chance to move up to director-level technical manager within a few years.

Responsibilities:-

• On-site walk/investigation on target projects
• Review and comment the technical drawings/components and other technical information as provided by EPC partners
• Regular on-site visit during construction phase
• TAC/PAC visit upon mechanical completion and grid connection
• Propose technical requirement in the EPC, O&M contract
• Long term cost down solutions and performance improvement solutions
• Oversee inspections and testing
• Site inspection and preliminary lay-out of the plants,
• Planning and control of the necessary safety precautions (messages at assembly insurance, safety devices etc.)
• Production of technical detail designs

Requirements:-

• At least 3-5 years relevant solar photovoltaic (PV)  design experience with a proven track record within this area and familiar with on-grid or BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaics) configuration design and has independent design experience
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Must have a strong educational background (Master Degree desirable)

• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and detecting realistic solutions
• Willingness to travel to sites around Europe
• Must speak fluent Italian & English
• Understand the BOS product and cost
• On-site DD(due diligence and O&M(operations & maintenance)  management experience
