Senior Offshore Environmental Consultant, UK

My client is a leading international consultancy working exclusively in renewable energies and offshore wind farms, whose list of clients and projects are genuinely world class. They are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to deliver advice to clients in the renewable energy sector along with supporting the Director of Environment.  

Core Criteria:

The senior environmental consultant will need to deliver high standards within the environmental field and display exceptional people skills in supporting, leading and developing a diverse and dynamic team of consultants, providing a consultancy service to my clients candidates. Reporting directly to the Director of Environment, the successful candidate will be required to lead the consultancy team and will need and excellent understanding of key offshore technologies along with a comprehensive understanding of consenting processes, key stakeholders and survey methodologies.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Providing support to the Director of Environment
• ·         Leading a consultancy team
• ·         Advising clients on offshore wind technologies
• ·         Understanding and overseeing the consenting processes
• ·         Offering support to existing clients and expanding the business to new opportunities
• ·         Predict, monitor and give professional advice on all aspects in the offshore sector
• ·         Carry out initial site environmental reviews
• ·         Carry out data analysis as part of the offshore monitoring process
• ·         Preparation and  coordination of the consultancy team’s reports
• ·         Interpret, understand and act upon offshore and marine environmental surveys

Education:-

• ·         Must have a strong academic background with a degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or similar

Core Requirements:-

• ·         A commercial and pragmatic ethos
• ·         Career driven
• ·         A minimum of 2 years in marine/wind renewable energy
• ·         A good understanding of marine and offshore environmental issues
• ·         A minimum of 5 years experience in either onshore or offshore environmental impact assessment

General Requirements:-

• Membership of IEEM or IEMA
• A good understanding of other sectors of the renewable industry and their environmental impact
