The Center for Conservation and Government (CCG) is the division of Conservation International (CI) that works with individual governments and institutions to help catalyze effective public-sector responses to the crisis of biodiversity loss.  Within CCG is the Public Funding Department, which supports programs in fundraising from bilateral and multilateral sources.  The Senior Manager position is within this department and is a member of the US Government team.  It has direct US Government fundraising, as well as donor management support responsibilities.  Responsibilities include reviewing proposals, acting as the US Fish and Wildlife Service liaison, and reviewing reports and workplans to meet donor requirements.  Also, this position supports public outreach activities with a focus on producing materials for the department’s CI webpage.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Support programs in developing USG proposals valued at $100,000 - $1.5 million.

  • Support programs in preparing USG technical reports and workplans for grants valued over $100,000.
  • Support Director’s fundraising activities (inc research, prepare presentations).
  •  Act as US Fish and Wildlife Service Liaison.
  • Produce materials for department's CI webpage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:
  • Four-year college degree.
  • Minimum of four years of work experience.
  • Proven track record preparing proposals, including strong writing and editing skills.
  • Understanding of technical work, priorities, and organizational structure of USAID, USFWS, and other relevant USG agencies.
  • Personal commitment to conservation.
  • Understanding of technical aspects of conservation programs.
  • Strong mastery of MS Office.
  • This position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Individual must have strong self-motivation.
Preferred Skills:
  • Written and oral intermediate Spanish language skills.
