Capital Power Corporation is seeking an innovative and results-oriented professional to bring a business approach to air emission policy development. Reporting to the Vice President, Environment, Health and Safety the successful candidate will lead a small team focused on developing Capital Powers climate change and air emission policy positions and strategies. Key responsibilities of this position include: " Understand in detail, North American air emission policy initiatives including climate change, emission trading, and criteria air contaminants;" Lead a multidisciplinary team within Capital Power to develop comprehensive greenhouse gas and air emissions strategies and positions;" Coordinate the analysis of pending government policy and regulations on Capital Powers legacy assets and new projects and acquisitions; " Represent and advocate Capital Powers climate change and air policy positions with industry committees, governments, and other stakeholders. This would include, among others, the Alberta Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA), the Canadian Electricity Association, and the International Emission Trading Association;" Coordinate regular communication of climate change and air policy issues and positions within Capital Power; and" Lead a small team of air policy specialists.
