Description

The Senior Manager will administer CI’s employee benefits programs and provide generalist services in all HR functional areas as needed to support an employee population of approximately 350 US-based staff within a global organization of nearly 1,000 staff. As a member of the HR Services team, the Senior Manager will share in our global HR standards of excellence. 

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The primary responsibilities will be to administer all aspects of the employee benefits programs, serve as the liaison with CI’s benefits broker(s) and vendors, conduct benefits analyses, maintain the benefits records in the HR database, prepare and track benefits actions and serve as an HR Generalist in addressing other personnel needs. The Senior Manager will provide HR guidance and support to all current US-based employees and supervisors in the areas of health and welfare benefits, retirement planning and leave administration; resolution of benefit insurance issues, reporting and reconciliation of problems; and wellness programs. S/he will counsel and advise employees on benefits including eligibility and claims issues and will be the primary contact for the administration of leave, worker’s comp, disability, FMLA, and ADA. The Senior Manager is responsible for CI’s benefits compliance in conjunction with our Benefits brokers and vendors, and with CI’s HR leadership. The Senior Manager, HR Services will ensure that CI’s benefit plans are communicated appropriately to all staff and that all eligibility guidelines and documentation are maintained appropriately. As a member of the HR Services Team, the Manager will focus on providing benefits guidance and support to all incoming and outgoing employees. S/he is responsible for the daily administration of CI’s domestic retirement plan including routine broker relations, employee communications and issues resolution. In addition, he/she will coordinate the Claims Review Committee.
 
The Senior Manager will function as an integral member of the four person US HR Services team and will be responsible for HR generalist support to US employees as assigned by the Senior Director. This support will include such areas as, but not limited to: Employee Engagement, HRS Communications, HRS Reporting/Budget Tracking, Benefits Billing, AAP support, and US awards programs.
 
Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office environment, professional position requiring extended hours as needed.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required:
  • Four year college degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of 4-5 years of benefits experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience with health benefit plans.
  • Knowledge of US Federal and State employment laws (i.e. Title VII, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of employee benefits regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, 5500 reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to interact with people of all different levels and backgrounds.
  • Ability to be proactive and take the lead in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of an HRIS based on hands-on experience.
  • Ability to gather and critically analyze all relevant information pertaining to a situation; approach problems logically and systematically.
  • Ability to document recommendations related to health and welfare plans and compensation strategy.
  • Has a customer focus in dealing with internal clients; responsive and proactive in dealing with questions and concerns.
  • Understands how to manage information, balancing employee confidentiality with business needs; knows when to communicate information upward.
  • Seeks input from the Teams to ensure representation of ideas and enhance acceptance of initiatives.
  • Understands the need for data integrity and pays attention to maintaining accurate and timely data.
Preferred:
  • Experience creating and distributing intranet and other communications content in an attractive, organized presentation.
  • Oracle HR HRIS experience.
