Summary of Vacancy
LRQA is an internationally recognised leading provider of assessment and verification services. As part of the Lloyd’s Register Group, we offer our services worldwide through a network of around 240 offices.
Due to a rapidly increasing global demand for Climate Change services, which include CDM, JI, ISO 14064 and emission trading schemes, a senior technical manager will be appointed to strengthen our existing globally based team.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- A good understanding of the developing global market for GHG validation and verification services
- A thorough understanding of the Kyoto Protocol and other global GHG trading schemes and the associated validation and verification processes
- An ability to take a technical lead for developing and managing a range of GHG services
- Experience of carrying out validation and verification work
- An ability to interact with and influence regulators and accreditors in support of LRQA’s approach to providing a valued service to its clients
- Strong communication skills
- An ability to support LRQA’s business centres with key sales initiatives
- Presentation skills to internal and external audiences
- The presence and credibility to represent LRQA authoritatively at the most senior levels across the industry
Candidates should be fluent in English (spoken and written), have a degree or equivalent together with 4 years work experience that is relevant to LRQA’s operational GHG activities and be capable of taking initiatives with limited supervision.
In addition, the Senior Global Technical Manager must have proven managerial skills and the ability to communicate effectively at senior level within LRQA’s global organisation and external bodies that influence business opportunities. This position will have full responsibility and authority for the service design and accreditation associated with GHG programmes and will have a major input into the strategic direction of LRQA’s GHG business. An expert knowledge of accreditation and regulation across the spectrum of GHG schemes is essential to enable LRQA to maintain its technical robustness whilst remaining commercially competitive. This position is central to the successful global development of LRQA’s range of GHG services.
