The Role As a Senior Field Ecologist, you will provide high quality support to the Ecological Project Manager throughout project lifecycles, from input into project scoping at the tender stage through to post project monitoring. The Senior Field Ecologist will present as the Middlemarch representative on site, liaising directly with clients and of onsite ecologists, providing leadership and mentoring to site teams. You will have a thorough understanding of project deliverables and scheme licences. Day to day the majority of your work will be site based overseeing the delivery of our services, working on major infrastructure and utility developments. With a thorough understanding of project licencing constraints and mitigation requirements, you will have a key role ensuring project deliverables are met on time while maintaining high standards of Health and Safety, and gathering, collating and providing high quality, accurate data to the Ecological Project Manager. While undertaking your regular duties, you will maintain your continuous professional development, building on your competencies with support from your line manager. Specific postholder duties include, but are not restricted to: • Site assurance visits and client liaison to ensure project constraints are clearly understood by site teams and are being implemented. Skills and Experience With good interpersonal skills, they will have the ability to lead and coach others and be able to communicate clearly and confidently with clients, contractors, and their peers. Working in sometimes dynamic environments, they will be a confident self-starter and decision maker, able to adapt to changing situations and take a pragmatic, solutions-based approach to working with others. Alongside practical field skills, they will be IT literate and confident in using Microsoft Office Applications and have experience in using GIS systems.
