My client is a leading international solutions provider with the renewable energy industry with experience in several areas including on/offshore wind, solar and hydro. They are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join their company as a Senior Consultant Engineer to work within their operations team based in Newcastle, UK. Position Overview:
My client is looking to recruit an outstanding Senior Consultant Engineer. You will be required to provide first class electrical design specifications and offer technical advice, project engineering and consultancy services to their clients in the renewable energy industries. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your customers will be made up of renewable energy project developers, regulatory authorities, trade associations and local/regional/national governments.
Responsibilities:-
- Work closely with the Operations team and clients to meet and deliver client requirements in an efficient manner
- · Develop and maintain my clients current relationships
- Lead and supervise major technical advisory, transmission & distribution plant/equipment specification electrical system design, project engineering and consultancy service projects and to deliver them on time and within budget.
- Liaise with clients to interpret requirements, develop scopes of works and budgets and support the sales and business development in the preparation of proposals.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement a programme of in-house development for the operational staff.
- Development and writing of QA standards, procedures and method statements, as necessary.
- Carry out all duties and work in accordance with the quality systems procedures operated by the Company.
Education:-
- · Must have strong educational background with a degree in Electrical Engineering
Core Requirements:-
- Charted Engineer status is preferred
- Experience working in an electrical power engineering / electrical network system environment.
- Experience in using Power System modelling packages, especially Digsilent, PSSE/Sincal, PSCAD, CDEGS
- Knowledge of control systems and SCADA package applications
- · Experience in project through-life costing and reliability assessments
- Track record of delivering multi-disciplinary technical projects to time and to budget
General Requirements:-
- Strong communication skills including report writing and presenting
- · Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
