Senior Engineer, Transmission & Distribution, Midlands, UK

I am currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join a leading consultancy business based in the Midlands.  Due to further expansion and winning new projects this business requires a senior engineer to cover there transmission & distribution products. 

Position Overview:

Suitable candidate should have a background in high voltage electrical design 132kv and above.  You will have a detailed understanding of substation design, switchgear and transformers, you will give technical advice to other departemtns within the business and also handle front end design work.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Design substation layouts & equipment
• ·         Ensure compliance to legislation and contract specification
• ·         Fulfil obligations to compliance on CDM
• ·         Conduct design reviews

Education:-

• ·         Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical power engineering and ideally C.Eng qualified.

Core Requirements:-

• ·         Minimum 5 years experience on high voltage design
• ·         Strong understanding of substations, especially offshore substations
• ·         Proven track record in a senior engineer role

General Requirements:-

• Ability to travel

• ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation
• ·         Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
• ·         Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
