Senior Engineer, Gent, Belgium

My client is a global manufacturer and distributer of cell manufacturing equipment. They have a strong backing and have developed partnerships with various leading institutions that are involved in the manufacturing of such products and are renowned for their innovative technologies and unconventional methodologies. They are currently looking for a senior process engineer to bring on and lead a team of engineers in their Belgian offices.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for a strong candidate with solar cell and module development and process optimization experience. As the lead engineer you will be responsible for optimizing existing and implementing new processes with the aim of improving product and cost efficiency. Responsibilities:

• ·         Be the lead and go to person in defining process and technology developments
• ·         Assist the procurement team in the acquisition of new material
• ·         Coach colleagues and help develop their knowledge of PV technology
• ·         Assist in the research and development of technologies in the lab
• ·         Conduct in depth analysis of the production lines to highlight both positive and negative points
• ·         Conduct regular inspection of the production lines
• ·         Assist HSSE in the design of manufacturing lines and conduct safety analysis for the life cycle of the production line
• ·         Provide key performance indicators (KPIs) for the manufacturing lines to assess efficiency.
• ·         Ensure that all activities are in compliance with legal requirements, regulations and ethical standards

Education:

Must be educated to Degree level or higher in Engineering, Physics, Science or related field

Core Requirements:

• ·         3-5 years experience in development of PV technology
• ·         Experience with quality tools 8D and/or 6 Sigma
• ·         Must have a proven track record in innovating and implementing new concepts
• ·         Must be an effective communicator to bring their ideas to the table for consideration
• ·         Must speak fluent Dutch or German and English
• ·         Will be an innovative and competent individual

• ·         Will be a results driven individual
