Wind Direct install and operate Industrial Wind Turbines that supply low cost, fixed price, green electricity for business and on-site usage - with no capital cost to the client.
We are seeking an experienced senior electrical engineer to take responsibility for a portfolio of wind farms in NSW, from grid connection planning, to electrical design, to negotiation and supporting the project team throughout the development stage. Experience with negotiating grid connection agreements for wind farm projects is essential.
The role includes:
Key responsibilities
Undertake grid connection feasibility studies
Prepare cabling and substation designs suitable for inclusion in the planning of wind and solar farms
Support development team efforts/mentoring development team in identifying cost-effective substation locations
Manage the grid connection process from connection enquiry to securing a connection agreement
Understand various NSPs’ workings, obligations and processes – particularly TransGrid and Essential Energy
Undertake steady state studies using PowerWorld Simulator and/or PSS/e
Interpret and prepare substation/switchyard general arrangements and single line diagrams as required
Assist in the development of EPC and O&M contracts for electrical engineering requirements
Provide electrical engineering support during the construction phase of wind and solar farms
