Your primary role will be to provide electrical engineering support for the preconstruction, construction, and operation phases of renewable generation sites. 
Currently the portfolio of projects under construction include: 
• Fallago Rig Wind Farm – Scottish Borders – 48 WTGs – 144MW connecting @ 400kV 
• Green Rig Wind Farm – Northumberland – 18 WTGs – 36MW connecting @ 20kV 
• Cotton Farm Wind Farm – Cambridgeshire – 8 WTGs – 16.4MW connecting @ 33kV 
• Little Raith Wind Farm – Fife – 9 WTGs – 24.75MW connecting @ 33kV 
• 5 smaller wind farm projects totalling 17.5MW mainly connecting @ 11kV 
With several more in the pipeline to commence this year.

 

1. Provide the project managers within the Wind Prospect Group of companies with electrical engineering support to include, amongst others, the following activities: 
a. Project (eg Wind Farm, Solar array) installation specifications for the electrical tenders or electrical elements of the works 
b. Grid Connection installation specifications for tendering the works 
c. Reviewing tender returns and making recommendations 
d. Overseeing the contractor’s electrical design works and reviewing design reports 
e. Overseeing the contractor’s equipment procuring works and reviewing equipment proposals 
f. Overseeing the contractor’s installation works and attending works progress meetings 
g. Review of contractor’s commissioning schedules and test results 
h. Undertaking pre-energisation inspections of wind farm electrical infrastructure 
i. Liaison with other project stakeholders (eg DNO, NGET, Meter Operator, client, etc) as may be necessary, in association with project managers. 
j. Submission of Connection Applications and technical review of connection offers and draft connection agreements. 
k. Submission of NGET Bilateral Connection Agreement applications 
l. Witnessing FATs (as required) and on-site commissioning and reviewing test results 
m. Making recommendations for the appointment of meter operators 
n. Pre-energisation inspection of the works 
o. If required, and subject to WPGL providing suitable formal and on-the-job training, act as the HV authorised person for the operation of the HV electrical equipment and creating safe systems of work (eg during turbine commissioning and up to project handover)

 

2 Support the Companies Wind Farm Operation Management team 
a. To provide electrical engineering support as and when necessary

 

3. Support companies due diligence team with the following activities: 
a. Review of wind turbine supply agreements 
b. Review of wind farm project electrical compliance requirements 
c. Review of electrical contracts
