Senior Electrical Engineer, UK

My client is a global energy consultancy with a strong project presence in the UK and the USA. They are currently looking to hire a senior electrical engineer to take up a managerial position on one of their utility scale renewable projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in a variety of renewable energies such as solar, thermal and wind and will also have had some experience in none renewable energy. My client is keen to see candidates with a strong academic background in electrical engineering therefore MSc qualifications in Electrical Engineering are strongly preferred. The role requires an individual with both solid technical and leadership skills as you will be required to manage a team of junior engineers on a variety of large projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading a group of electrical and mechanical engineers on challenging yet rewarding projects through to completion
• Working with project leaders to ensure that projects are constantly evolving while keeping to set out schedule
• Coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders to ensure that project is delivered according to the specification developed by owner’s engineer
• Reporting all project progress to senior project managers and directors before working with them to make the project more efficient.

Requirements:

• 7+ years in electrical engineering
• Msc in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Proven track record of leadership especially on large projects
• Extensive experience in renewable energy preferably solar PV and wind energy
• Experience working in a multi-project environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
