Senior Electrical Engineer, London, UK

My client is a global leader within the wind sector, delivering services world wide for market leading developers, manufacturers, consultants and operators. To strengthen their existing power systems analysis team they are now looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer specialising in power transformers.

Position Overview:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be joining the electrical project design team, responsible for the detailed design of the wind farm collection system across over 4,000mw of projects. You will be required to provide specialist support in power generation transformers and lead the technical evaluation, manufacture, test, installation and commissioning of transformers utilised in the renewable power generation industry.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Attend and lead design reviews
• ·         Witness factory acceptance testing
• ·         Investigate transformer operational failures
• ·         Carry out quality audits
• ·         Produce reports and review specifications
• ·         Lead the technical evaluation, manufacture, test, installation and commissioning of transformers

Education:-

• ·         Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering

Core Requirements:-

• ·         Experience of power transformers utilised in power generation up to 200MVA, 400kV
• ·         Understanding of transformer design principles including winding design and protection requirements
• ·         Experience and knowledge of substation HV electrical plant
• ·         Familiarity with electrical system modelling software (eg. PSS/E, DIgSILENT)
• ·         A strong technical background in offshore wind

• ·         Ability to travel
• ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
