APEM Limited is Europe’s largest specialist aquatic science consultancy, offering our clients an integrated approach to every aspect of the scientific study and management of freshwater and marine habitats. APEM’s Remote Sensing Division is a rapidly expanding part of the business and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s aerial survey programme. As a result of APEM Limited’s continued growth we are currently seeking a motivated high calibre scientist and project manager to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will work within a team that undertakes a variety of remote sensing projects including: high resolution imaging and processing of river corridors; habitat map production; land use mapping from aerial photography; thermal imaging projects; hydro acoustic surveying of reservoirs and rivers; invasive species surveys.
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and commercially aware Senior Consultant/Project Manager who is appropriately qualified and with specialist knowledge in one or more of the following fields: remote sensing/aerial photography, environmental science, river morphology, aquatic ecology, land use mapping. A candidate with significant experience in project management but without specific environmental/remote sensing experience will also be considered.
As a Senior Consultant you will have a BSc, MSc or PhD and over 4 years relevant aquatic consultancy and/or project management experience. You will be required to work both independently and as a leader of project teams drawn from all our regional offices. As such, a proven ability to organise efficient work schedules, to meet tight deadlines and to deliver projects on time and within budget will be essential for achieving success in this role.
Excellent report writing skills are essential, and experience of dealing with corporate sector clients is preferred. In addition to providing specialist technical input, candidates will be expected to communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams to provide technically excellent, clear and concise outputs. The position is primarily office based, although site visits and client meetings will be required, therefore a full driving licence is essential.
