Description

My client is a leading installer in the US solar industry. They focus mainly on utility- scale ground-mounted solar projects and rooftop systems. They are now looking to recruit a senior construction manager to join their team.   

 

Position Overview:
The Construction Manager is fully responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for all utility-scale PV projects, this includes:  Project planning including defining schedule and budgets which meet contract requirements;  support of the design process through plan-check and permitting;  providing direction and supervision of all field activities related to the physical construction;  oversight for all quality and safety requirements on the project; materials and equipment planning and requisition;  and planning/management for all general conditions requirements to successfully install the project on-time and within budget, while maintaining required levels for quality and safety. 

Responsibilities:-

 

  • ·         Serve as owner’s representative for quality control and timeline coordination for construction of PV systems
  • ·         Layout, design and engineering review of solar projects including technology review and selection
  • ·         Supervise and manage third-party EPC contractors
  • ·         Coordinate project completion, testing, commissioning and transition into commercial operation
  • ·         Review and approve construction loan draws
  • ·         Coordinate major equipment procurement and delivery logistics (e.g., solar modules)
  • ·         Analyze EPC cost estimates and schedule of values
  • ·         Participate in EPC contract negotiation
  • ·         Manage rebate incentive & REC production programs
  • ·         Manage EPC contract administration, paper flow, change order management, and attend project meetings
  • ·         Coordinate utility interconnection

 

Education:-

  • ·         Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related education or training, or Business Administration or equivalent job experience necessary

Core Requirements:-

  • At least 3-5 years relevant work experience in the solar industry with a proven track record in project management
  • 5-7 years of construction related experience
  • ·         Demonstrated experience in construction management
  • ·         Must be proficient in MS word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
  • ·         position requires the candidate to use good independent judgment, discretion, and work independently and accurately with an attention to detail including the ability to make quick decisions amidst varying deadlines is necessary
  • ·         Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions and prioritize work

Key Skills:-

  • Solar PV, Engineering Background (buildings or architecture or construction, electrical engineering preferred), solar projects experience, team leadership
