Description
To provide scientific support on impacts of biodiversity conservation on carbon conservation, focusing particularly on peatlands and tropical rainforests. For some projects, to lead on broader ecological fieldwork. To build a portfolio of projects, postholder will be expected to develop proposals for external funding and to manage the resulting projects and staff. Should have a PhD; experience of carbon stock/flow measurement; sound ecological, conservation and data analysis knowledge; ability to rapidly and critically review scientific information and disseminate clear written and oral advice. Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective networks and working collaborations will be essential.
