Description

As the Senior Client Partner you will lead the sales and relationship management function of Carbon Consulting within E.ON Sustainable Energy. You will be responsible for establishing and building successful and profitable relationships with major Industrial & Commercial customers at board level in the specific field of carbon emissions reduction and energy management. Managing a growing team of Client Partners and Consultants, you will lead all aspects of the client relationship process - marshalling the full resources of E.ON Sustainable Energy, and at times the wider E.ON business, being the ultimate owner of the profitable relationship with all of Carbon Consulting customers. You will make your extensive knowledge of issues, technologies and regulations surrounding carbon emissions available to our clients.


Your principal deliverable will be to manage the client-facing team to secure long-term contracts with the UK’s largest I&C customers in Carbon Strategy & Regulation; Carbon Management & Measurement; Low & Zero Carbon Technologies and the Carbon Reduction Commitment legislation.

Key Activities

 

  • Manage the current team of four client partners and consultants to deliver agreed sales and margin objectives for carbon consultancy
    In line with growing revenue, lead the expansion of this team, seeking experienced and well qualified additions to personnel, who demonstrate a high degree of fit with the culture of E.ON and specifically the incubator model of Sustainable Energy.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of Carbon Consulting, owning the client facing perspective, in conjunction with the Head of Carbon Consulting and the Senior Carbon Consultant, who takes ownership of the delivery perspective.
  • Work across the leadership team of Sustainable Energy, Energy Services and E.ON generally to maximise growth and value opportunities from customers, at board, for Carbon Consultancy; contributing to the strategic planning for Sustainable Energy
    Bring together the capabilities of E.ON Sustainable Energy and E.ON more generally, along with your knowledge of issues, technologies and regulation in carbon emissions - to deliver carbon strategy & regulation advice to major customers, carbon management & measurement approaches, development of low & zero carbon technology projects and support in mitigating the impact of the Carbon Reduction Commitment legislation.
  • Ensure that all business growth and development KPI’s are tracked and delivered to deadline.
  • Develop and maintain significant and beneficial strategic level personal relationships with the UK’s largest I&C clients, representing their needs at senior levels within E.ON.
  • Collect competitor & market intelligence – maintaining an accurate overview of pricing across the industry/market, advising and testing as necessary, recommending pricing decision to the SELT.
Main responsibilities of role

 

  • Facilitating the development of board-level strategic relationships with the UK’s largest I&C clients, putting your in-depth knowledge of issues, technologies and regulations in the carbon emissions field at the disposal of major clients through effective management and direction of your growing team.
  • Growing and owning the Carbon Consultancy sales and margin plan in line with the agreed business plan; which you will play a central role in developing.
  • Managing your team to establish, develop and manage all relationships with large infrastructure providers and developers, and a wide range of the largest I&C customers in the UK.
  • Interface with senior colleagues across E.ON to maximise value, develop detailed customer responses and solution, and resolve customer issues.
  • Identifying and developing new products and services relating to carbon consultancy, carbon management, low carbon technologies and carbon reduction commitment legislation.
  • By personal example and leadership, support an environment that promotes rapid and continuous improvement and the development of high performing teams across E.ON Sustainable Energy.
Key skill requirements

 

  • A relevant engineering, scientific or carbon issues related degree qualification.
  • An MBA or similar advanced or masters level management qualification is desirable.
  • Operated at a similar strategic level, within a similar commercial environment, having developed and managed the very largest client relationships, utilising advance knowledge in a directly relevant field.
  • A proven track record of delivering board-level targets in a competitive commercial environment, with influencing credentials on related industry bodies and forums, or a reputation for ‘thought leadership’ in the carbon emission reduction field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence people at all levels of the business.
  • An understanding of the key issues and challenges relating to carbon emissions reduction, strategies associated with the same, management and measurement of carbon and low & zero carbon technologies.
  • In-depth financial and commercial awareness that will enable you to make key decisions and maximise profit.
  • The ability to lead teams of experienced and highly qualified personnel to deliver strategic aims and sales and margin targets
