Senior CDM Project Manager, UK

My client is a leading CDM (clean development mechanism) project developer with a global presence. They have been market leaders for a significant period of time and specialises in GHG (green house gas) emission reduction projects in order to generate CERs (certified emission reductions). My client works with its clients throughout the entire CDM project cycle and only uses the most experienced and capable staff to advise clients in order to maximise CER’s.

They now have an opening for 2 Principal CDM Project Managers in their UK office and also a Principal CDM Project Managers in their Beijing office. The position requires providing technical support and capacity building.

Primary Responsibilities:

• ·         Ensuring that CDM projects have the most likely chance of passing the CDM process with from a technical standpoint.
• ·         Technical support and review of DOA and Project Development.
• ·         Reviewing and signing off of all technical reports to be submitted to the UNFCC
• ·         Providing exceptional management skills in order to lead a team
• ·         Assist the DOE (Designated Operational Entity) representatives throughout the process
• ·         Attempt to accelerate the validation and verification process while  maintaining the integrity of the project.
• ·         Maintain internal controls and assist with system development

Further Responsibilities

• ·         Ensuring a strong relationship is maintain with third party DOA and in order to move forward with the project
• ·         Process evaluation, management and improvement
• ·         Maintain a high standard in order to maintain the reputation of the company
• ·         Report efficiently to the head of implementation

Key Skills and qualifications:

• ·         At least 2 years of CDM project management experience
• ·         Validation/Verification of at least 10+ projects preferably CDM rather the JI
• ·         Must have a strong background academically in Renewable energy and climate change or Engineering, at least a masters degree
• ·         Be fluent in English for UK office and Chinese for Beijing office, having both is an asset
• ·         Some management experience
• ·         Experience in working with Microsoft Office

• ·         Highly organized
• ·         Background in either engineering, environmental economics or science.
