Description

My client has been a global player in the energy market for over a decade and have developed, manufactured and operated over 20,000 MW throughout this time. They are a major player in the wind industry and have a global reputation for quality and understanding.

Position Overview:

My client requires a leading German speaking business development expert to lead the growth of the company in the German market. This is a senior management position involving continued team development and company expansion through market connections and sales techniques. You will repost directly to the Global Account Director in one of the most recognised wind companies in the world.

 

Responsibilities:-

  •          Manage performance of your sales team and encourage them to perform to the highest standard achieving targets and requirements of the company
  •          You will work closely with the development, projects, manufacturing and operations team in order to gain complete understanding of the company plans and developments in order to achieve strong growth figures
  •          Through your team you will ensure that my client is a major part of the German wind industry
  •          You will have exceptional contacts in the market having worked for some of the major players in the wind industry enabeling you to utilise these contacts and encourage business opportunities for the company
  •          Ensure that my client is in the bid process for large scale onshore wind farm developments
  •          You will travel extensively across Europe developing and maintaining key relationships in the onshore wind market
  •          Demonstrate ability to negotiate large scale contracts with a team of bid managers, sales managers and support staff
  •          Design strategic plans for global and strategic accounts in the onshore wind market
  •          Team coordination at a national and international level

 Education:-

Science or Engineering discipline degree minimum, with PHD or MSc preferable

 

Core Requirements:-

  •          Must have 2-4 years business development or sales experience in the wind market
  •          You must have 7-12 years experience in the wind industry
  •          Strong experience managing a team of wind professionals
  •          Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and work closely with VP level managers in a large international company
  •          Ability to manage multiple large scale projects

General Requirement

  •          Ability to travel internationally
  •          Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
  •          Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
  •          Excellent ability to communicate and work in English and German is a must with the ability to communicate in other European languages a bonus

Key Skills:-

Energy, renewable energy, construction, onshore, offshore, negotiations experience, business development, sales of wind turbines/generators or large wind projects, exceptional team leadership skills, project managers, experience with complex contact negotiations and complex stakeholder and customer management experience
