Senior Advisor – Climate Change

The role holder will support organisational compliance with government targets for sustainability and climate change through implementation of effective governance and control.

Manage the gathering and dissemination of information and data affecting the Agency's planned activities and performance against government sustainability targets.

Conduct investigations and research into climate change mitigation; adaptation and sustainability across the Agency's sphere of influence.

Provide expert advice and guidance to grow awareness and knowledge of Agency teams and stakeholders, contributing to policy development and associated plans for efficient delivery against targeted outcomes.

Implement best practice in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Agency's response to sustainability and the effects of climate change. 

Travel between Highways Agency offices and central departments will be required. This may occasionally involve a overnight stay and international travel.
