Description

ADAS, part of RSK Group, is seeking a Senior / Principal Ecologist to join our Bristol ecology team on a permanent basis. Depending on the successful Ecologist's preference, this can be either a full-time or part-time position. Part-time working patterns can be Monday to Wednesday / Wednesday to Friday to be confirmed with the successful Ecologist at offer stage. This is a hybrid office and home working position with flexibility in the split.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects from inception to finalisation
  • Talking to our clients and providing solid technical advice
  • Writing of technical reports including but not limited to, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies and Biodiversity Management Plans, Habitat Regulations Assessments Screening reports and protected species reports
  • Technical review and approval of reports

Person Specification:

  • Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and within a commutable distance to our Bristol office
  • Demonstrable experience of ecological consultancy work, including leading on surveys and managing projects 
  • Good working knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including protected species surveys and mitigation
  • Previous ecology related experience
  • Associate Level CIEEM membership or above
  • Graduate level education in a relevant subject
  • Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce accurate technical reports to a professional standard
  • Experience of managing projects and liaising effectively with clients

Salary and Benefits:

  • £30,000 - £45,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) per annum, depending on experience
