Description

At ZSL London Zoo, we receive over a million visitors every year, many of whom are families, children and school groups. We are looking for Explainers to enthrall, engage and interact with our key audiences through our fantastic range of live events for 2011.

We are passionate about our animals and you will have a talent for inspiring that same passion in our visitors. You will use your advanced communications skills to engage visitors in one-to-one discussions, lead groups in interactive workshops, or give talks to large audience of all ages.

We understand that our visitors can be as varied as the amazing animals we have at ZSL and our Explainers are just as confident interacting with our youngest first time visitors as with our lifetime supporters. Your days will be spent helping visitors get the most out of our exhibits, by leading and presenting a range of public events to inspire, entertain and educate our audiences about the varied work of the ZSL.

You will receive full support to learn new material and develop your presenting style. Experience of working with children is essential, ideally in an informal learning context.

Seasonal work is available from the beginning of June until the beginning of September 2011.  Applicants will need to be flexible as weekend working is required.

Please send your CV with a covering letter outlining your suitability to hr@zsl.org.

Closing date for applications: Monday 30 May 2011
