SeaWeb is looking for an enthusiastic person to support the marketing and organisation of our seafood sustainability work, in particular the UK restaurant-focused Good Catch project. This role would be suitable for someone interested in learning more about events organisation, marine conservation and food sustainability issues, stakeholder engagement and communications tactics. You will have the opportunity to input your ideas into the work and also participate in some events. Also it will provide insight into working for a mission-driven environmental organisation and provide exposure to sustainability leaders. The Seafood Choices programme of SeaWeb works internationally to cultivate joint seafood sustainability solutions amongst commercial, legislative, and environmental stakeholders. Good Catch is a joint project of the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), SeaWeb’s Seafood Choices and Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming. This initiative provides practical information and events to help the culinary and catering sector navigate seafood sustainability to buy, serve and promote marine-friendly menu options. Good Catch was recognised as a finalist in the 2011 Observer Ethical Awards. Good Catch works in parallel with the Sustainable Fish City campaign to rally support and business commitments on seafood sustainability.
