Scotland and Northern Ireland Manager

Full-time (5 days / 37.5 hours per week)

Permanent

Salary: £34,963

Location: Stirling

Are you looking for a impactful leadership role, managing our Scotland and Northern Ireland team in nature conservation?

Are you adept at building partnerships and identifying opportunities to recover nature at scale?

Do you have a good understanding of the threats facing invertebrates and the habitats they rely upon?

We have an amazing opportunity to lead our growing Buglife Scotland and Northern Ireland team.

This is an exciting time to join Buglife, with a new ambitious strategy and a growing portfolio of conservation delivery projects across the UK.  Buglife play a lead role within the conservation sector working with, and influencing, others to help the small things that run the world.

The Scotland and Northern Ireland Manager role focusses on growing our work and influence in the two countries by building new partnerships, and managing the delivery of our charitable aims and objectives.  Focus areas for project development will be expanding our B-Lines and bog restoration projects, growing our work on preventing the extinction of the UK’s most threatened species on land and in freshwaters, and providing opportunities for everyone to connect with the natural world.

You will manage a team of Conservation Officers, ensuring that they are supported in their work, that our suite of conservation and engagement projects are delivered on time and to a high standard, and that all financial claims and reporting is completed.

You will also be our spokesperson for Buglife in Scotland and Northern Ireland, a strong voice for invertebrates, and apply advocacy skills to influence decision makers and others to ensure a high profile for invertebrates and their conservation.

The role sits alongside our England Manager and Wales Manager, and is supported by our Head of Operations, Scotland Development Manager, Advocacy and Social Change Officer, and Fundraising & Communications team.

Location is in our Scotland Office in Stirling.  You will be expected to travel around Scotland and Northern Ireland, and occasionally to our Head Office in Peterborough.

Buglife offer a competitive benefits package including, Enhanced Pension, Flexible Working, 23 days annual leave (rising to 28 after 3 years service) in addition to winter close between Christmas and New Year.
