My client is a world leader in providing measurement and safety equipment to the global petrochemical, oil & gas and process markets.  A true leader in the design & development of specialist technologies for over 40 years and responsible for releasing patented technologies that are now known throughout the industry. The result of this is high quality yet cost effective process management solutions delivered through a variety of products.

Position Overview:

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying market opportunities and selling engineering solutions to suit the client needs.  You will be selling complex solutions and so a strong engineering background is required in order to discuss projects confidently with customers.  You will be selling products to end users as well as EPC contractors experience in selling both is desirable however not essential.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Identify new clients within the UK market
  • ·         Promote and sell relevant solutions
  • ·         Develop strong relationships with end users and EPC Contractors
  • ·         Maximise revenue through new orders as well as up selling on existing accounts

Education:-

  • ·         Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related education or training, or Business Administration or equivalent job experience necessary

Core Requirements:-

  • At least 5 years relevant work experience selling instrumentation or process systems to the petrochemical or oil & gas sectors
  • A strong track record of success in the relevant industry sector
  • ·         A strong understanding of the petrochemical sector
  • ·         Knowledge of safety detection equipment, gas analysis equipment or leak detection equipment
  • ·         Experience in selling solutions with a value between £100-500k

General Requirements:-

  • Ability to travel
  • ·         Ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation
  • ·         Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
  • ·         Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Key Skills:-

  • Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, solution sales, knowledge of petrochemical or oil & gas sector
