Rye Harbour Discovery Centre

The Discovery Centre is Sussex Wildlife Trust’s first coastal visitor centre, and it opened in May. It is an accessible hub for Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, and it boasts Lime Kiln Café, a shop, lots of interesting displays offering information about the nature reserve, and fantastic views.

The Role

This role will be vital for the ongoing success of the new Discovery Centre in working alongside the café and retail management team in the delivery of an excellent customer and visitor experience. Support the management team by covering the duty manager role in both the café and retail areas, regularly and during period of annual leave and staff sickness.

The Person

We are looking for someone with great people skills, excellent organisational and IT ability and the experience of working within a busy retail or hospitality environment. Previous experience as a key holder or in a supervisory role is essential. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and an absolute commitment to providing great customer service.
