The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. It also manages a network of around 120 wildlife reserves across Scotland and is a member of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement. The Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Officer to work on the development of the Riverwoods initiative through high quality mapping that will bring together existing knowledge of riparian developments and opportunities for further work. The key aspect of this role is to deliver outputs for the Riverwoods Project, whilst providing information to the wider Trust on this work. This will include:
To be successful we’d expect you to have a relevant degree or the equivalent in experience, experience in handling and manipulating complex and varied datasets, and be an expert user of Microsoft Excel, ArcGIS-ArcPro and ArcGIS Online (AGOL). Knowledge of the principles of systematic wildlife survey and monitoring along with knowledge of the Scottish Wildlife ecology and conservation, and a working knowledge of wildlife and environmental issues would desirable.
