The Institute for Environment and Sustainability (IES) is one of the seven scientific institutes of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
The Sustainable Production and Consumption Unit is looking for a researcher to contribute to the development of EU-wide safety and quality criteria for recovered materials, including for fertilizing products. The successful candidate will undertake technicaleconomic research related to waste management and the circular economy. This research will contribute to the European Commission’s work towards a favourable legal framework for the recovery and use of secondary rawmaterials sourced from waste. The research will also include the assessment of the potential environmental, economic and social impacts of the technical proposals for recovery criteria. He/she is expected to conduct research studies combining technical, scientific and economic elements, to draft scientific reports for policy making, to interact with stakeholders and manage the activities of expert working groups, to organise and co-chair expert meetings and to manage the related information flow as part of a research team.
