Researcher - Environmental Contaminants

Bioforsk Soil and Environment Division needs to strengthen its research staff in the area of environmental contaminants in terrestrial ecosystems. The advertised position is placed in the Department for Soil Quality which conducts R&D on occurrence, degradation, spreading and effects of environmental contaminants in soil, sediments and waste. The Department also works with biological waste treatment, soil as growth medium, and climate related processes in soil. In addition, the Department carries out consultancy and exposition services. Applications are invited from highly qualified and enthusiastic candidates to fill an exciting research and development position working with occurrence, spreading and effects of environmental contaminants. We see challenges related to environmental effects of mixed pollutions, contaminants in low concentrations, and emerging substances and chemicals whose impacts on the environment are not well known. There is also a need for greater insight in ecological relations and development of molecular methods in eco-toxicology. The successful applicant is expected to possess qualifications in one or several of these disciplines. The successful candidate must have a national and international network in the research field and be active in dissemination of research results including direct contact with authorities and other stakeholders. The candidate is expected to handle varied tasks of project management and implementation.

Highly competent / qualified in the areas of occurrence, dispersion and effects of environmental pollution in terrestrial ecosystems, PhD / Dr.scient

Full competence in project leadership

Experience with contract research
