Description |
E3G is looking for a Research Manager to join its growing climate diplomacy team. A recognised global leader in innovative diplomacy, E3G is increasing its capacity to respond to the challenge of deepening global climate cooperation at a time of increasing international tension and fragmentation. The role will be based in E3G’s London headquarters. Overview of roleE3G is a European think tank working globally to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy. We build the broad-based coalitions necessary to deliver a safe climate. We pride ourselves on bringing independence to an extremely polarised discussion and holding policy makers to account on their promises. E3G was ranked the fifth most influential environmental think tank in the world by the University of Pennsylvania’s ‘Go To Global Think Tank’ Index in 2016 and 2017. A transformation to a global low carbon economy must happen by mid-century if we are to avoid dangerous climate change. The Climate Diplomacy Programme undertakes analysis, builds strategies and facilitates interventions which seek to increase ambition in global climate action. E3G’s climate diplomacy work extends well beyond the UN negotiating processes to include global cooperation on the energy transition, financial reform and increasing resilience. This requires deep understanding of the connections between the climate politics and other global agendas in foreign, security and economic policy. This new Research Manager role will support the Climate Diplomacy Programme principally to work on strategies to promote the adoption of efficient, clean cooling around the world, as well as potentially supporting the work of other E3G programmes. This role is offered on a 1-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension. Key Responsibilities
