As the largest crystalline silicon photovoltaic solar module manufacturer in the world, Suntech is a rapidly growing organization. We have an exciting opportunity for an Regional Sales Manager to work in our San Francisco, California headquarters.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for day to day contact and interaction with all Suntech customers in the assigned territory.  The Regional Sales Manager solicits customer feedback on company products and programs and gathers market intelligence.  The position works closely with the Marketing department and other departments such as I.T. and Logistics to ensure continual improvement of the customer experience.  This position has District Level Sales personnel as direct reports and is responsible to build, coach and mentor the regional team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing customer base.
  • Identify new customers in the region.
  • Hit all assigned Key Performance Indicators including revenue goals.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with customers.
  • Ensure all pricing, product and updates are successfully delivered to the customers.
  • Complete and continuously update the Sales Pipeline.
  • Update CRM in regard to customer status, contacts, communications etc.
  • Resolve/Direct customer complaints to conclusion.
  • Travel frequently to customer’s places of business.
  • Gather and report Market Intelligence.
  • Train customers on new products and programs while soliciting and reporting feedback.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure targets are met and that there is alignment with corporate directives.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office products and a CRM.
  • Desire to succeed in a competitive arena.
  • Ability to assist with building an organization and infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of sales experience with 2+ years as a Regional Manager.
  • Experience in the solar industry is desired but not required.
