Description

(Position Based in Quito Ecuador) World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks a Regional Communications Specialist to develop and implement communications strategies that position the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Program favorably in key channels and that support LAC’s marketing, fundraising, stakeholder outreach and relationship management activities with high level officials in the private, public and NGO sectors. Develops communications messages and materials about LAC’s vision, objectives, agenda, and successes and prepares responses to high level information requests. Conducts research and analysis, organizes key events, information and materials, drafts reports and presentations, and assists with project management. Mobilizes LAC’s field communications staff and distributes to or co-produces communications materials so that LAC’s messages are disseminated synchronously in WWF’s key markets across the region.

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Minimum of five years experience in the field of international affairs, public relations or communications. A combination of nonprofit and private sector experience is desirable. Thorough knowledge of WWF and its field programs as well as a working knowledge of its global priorities is desirable.

Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Spanish and strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially relationship management skills. Highly organized and able to prioritize effectively; able to coordinate several projects at one time and produces with high level of accuracy under time constraints, tight deadlines and with minimal supervision. Some national and international travel required.
