Description

Hackney Council is looking for an experienced administrator to support our work to make Hackney’s housing estates greener. You will be working as part of the Sustainability and Environment team on exciting projects unique to Hackney. This role supports a series of trials designed to make our housing estates cleaner and greener. This is an important part of our work to make Hackney a place for everyone. This is a really exciting time to join our team, during a busy period, as we work towards delivering the soon to be launched Hackney Climate Action Plan.

As Recycling Project Support Assistant, your role will play an important part in the success of this trend-setting work. Day to day you will spend much of your time out visiting sites on estates across Hackney. You will monitor works to help ensure they are completed according to our plans.

You should be a confident communicator, able to liaise with other Council departments like waste, planning and parking, as well as with tenants and contractors. You must be able to use a variety of IT packages and be methodical and accurate in your work. Experience in supporting small to mid medium sized projects would be beneficial.

You will need a flexible approach as you may need to work out of hours from time to time. A driving licence would be useful. This is a permanent position that would suit someone who is looking to expand their knowledge and experience in the waste and recycling sector.
