Our Public Realm Division ensures that the London Borough of Hackney is clean, safe and accessible for all our residents, businesses and visitors. Our Sustainability Environment Team is responsible for our council waste strategy including recycling and local environmental quality to ensure we protect the local environment and deliver effective front line services to our residents.

This is an exciting time to join our team, to assist with the development of our waste and recycling services in working towards achieving higher recycling rates.

We are looking for a Recycling Officer to join our team to support the development and delivering our Waste and Recycling Strategy. You will project manage recycling initiatives, have a key role in implementing innovative schemes and work to maximise recycling opportunities within the Borough, specifically supporting the implementation of our Recycling and Reduction Plans and Service Development Proposals.

Your experience, knowledge and commitment to recycling are what we are looking for to join our busy team. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about working in the recycling sector, and has experience and education to support this.

You will have an appreciation of the challenges of delivering and progressing recycling services in an inner city location. Your project management experience, coupled with your dedication to customer service will enable you to offer best solutions to our residents and other stakeholders when implementing recycling schemes.

We require your written and verbal communications skills to be proficient, as well a strong ability to problem solve and demonstrate innovation in the workplace.
