Conservation International (CI) has an immediate opening for the position of receptionist. Based at CI Headquarters office in Arlington, VA, the receptionist will greet all visitors, control a multiline switchboard for incoming domestic and international calls, maintain conference room schedules, notify staff of incoming deliveries and assist Operations Support Services with some catering events/meetings.
This position reports to the Operations Support Manager and requires a high level of customer service, excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Receptionist will be responsible for opening promptly at 8:30 am for operations and closing at 5:30 pm. 
  • Greet and screen all visitors. Process identification badges for all guests, contractors and vendors as well as direct them to the appropriate host.
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls in a professional manner.
  • Maintain the Conference Center schedule and respond to reservation requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the conference rooms are clean and stocked supplies with materials. Assist with some catering setup as needed.
  • Assist Greening team with assignments and Mailroom staff as needed as well as currier/delivery on sending/ receiving packages.
  • Support Executive Staff and Management with special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required:
  • High School degree or equivalent combination of work and experience.  Some college preferred.
  • Prior work experience in an office/customer serive environment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel) and Outlook.
  • Fluent English required, strong communication skills and pocess proper telephone ediquite
  • Strictly abide to a 8:30 am - 5:30 pm schedule.
 
Preferred:
  • Bilingual in Spanish, French or Portuguese a plus.
