The Wairarapa Area is seeking applications for two enthusiastic, well organised people to undertake biodiversity pest plant control based in Masterton. These are fixed term positions for a period of three months, commencing Monday, 3 November 2008 and finishing Friday, 23 January 2009. The focus of these positions is to carry out field operations associated with pest plant control throughout the Wairarapa Area, and to collect information about the distribution and density of infestations in these areas. Opportunities may also arise to work across the range of the Area’s core functions, in both front and back country locations.
We are looking for applicants motivated by a passion for New Zealand’s outdoors and natural environment. Experience and qualifications in pest plant identification and control would be an advantage. A full driver’s licence, good level of physical fitness, and ability to learn and work as part of a team is essential.
